Last week I shared my recipe for oil-free oven fries, so this week I thought I would share my burger recipe to go along with them. These burgers are so quick and easy to make and so convenient because the ingredients are all probably in your pantry already. These are a staple in our dinner rotation!
Smoky Bean Burgers (makes 4, easy to double for more)
1 can pinto beans, drained
1 1/2 Tbsp. BBQ sauce
1 Tbsp. ketchup
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. liquid smoke
1 tsp. vegan worcestershire sauce
1/3 c. instant oats
Preheat 375 degrees. Use a fork or potato masher to mash beans so that they are mashed with some whole parts still visible. Then add all seasonings and stir together.
Add in oats and stir until combined. Divide out in equal portions and place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. The parchment paper is critical as it will keep them from sticking. Then shape them into a patty shape.
Bake for 10 minutes. Take out and flip burgers and bake for another 10 minutes until done.
